Hi Cait,

Your comment about moving around rather than sitting at your desk due to some physical pain led me to wonder whether you're familiar with Katy Bowman. "Move more and move more of you" is one of her mantras. She's a deep thinker who thoroughly understands the human body, how it's put together, and what it needs. You might want to check her out at nutritiousmovement.com.

Hope you feel better and thank you for your return to regular posting. Love your spirit and your "voice"!

Not me feeling personally connected to you reading that your passport is making a pit stop in WINNIPEG! Lolol! Amazing!

I also went to see Dune: Part Two at the cinema and was wildly engaged the whole time. This month I went and saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at the symphony, where they play the film and the orchestra plays the music live. I loved it!!! I am cheating a bit, but I started Anna Karenina on Sunday and was hooked within the first 20 pages. I am always extremely intimidated by such hefty novels so you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was by this. I am reading the novel with a friend, as a sort of book club of two.

Have a lovely week friend!

After 20 (no joke) years, I finally contacted a furniture repair shop to get an estimate on repairing a chair that belonged to my grandmother. I've carted the chair around all this time and I will finally get it repaired. It will be an investment, and a piece I plan on loving for a long time.

Ohhh! Did not know hedgehogs hibernated or you can buy hedgie food! So sweet! Dick Turpin on Apple tv...totally worth shelling out the subscription fee....Noel Fielding is beyond sublime! Laughing to tears start to finish every single episode! I am currently writing a Dungeons and Dragons mystery book for my 9 year old cousin with lives in Coquitlam BC...and love to find treasures from Facebook Marketplace to put in envelopes from characters in the story for her to have fun with as she reads!🥰

I loved Madeline Pendleton's book! I finally filed taxes (US) and I'm relieved it's DONE.

I bought some magnesium lotion. Is this what 42 years old looks like?! I am so ecstatic with the great sleep I've had with my sleep machine and the magnesium lotion for the past four days.

I said NO to something as of yesterday. A huge commitment I undertook for five years until I realized that it is sucking the literal life out of me since September 2023. I am learning to say no and be okay with it. For this recovering people pleaser, I am so stinking proud of myself.

And I'm reading a lot more and listening to audio books on my walk. I've been walking consistently since June 2023 so the same old music is getting boring so I joined the world of audio books this year. I'm always late to the cool kids' games.

OMG Cait, the news about the Mindful Budgeting planner has made my day! Yay!! It's the best tool I've used to manage my spending and I've missed it tremendously. Can't wait to get my hands on one! (P.S. I finished I Survived Capitalism... looking forward to your review! Also, will definitely check out Unmasked... As a neurotypical person I want to be a better supporter to neurodivergent people in my life.)

I am reading Harry Bosch mysteries. I am watching Law and Order Toronto. I am listening to 80s music - the need for nostalgia is great.

Best money I spent this month is a toss up. The physio for my elbow and the brace to support it and the dinner for my BFF’s 50th birthday.

I’ll have to have a listen to that podcast episode with Cal Newport. I enjoy his work. He was recently on a podcast episode of The Minimalists which I listened to, last week I believe. I am in a long queue at my library for his latest book. I am looking forward to reading it! 😊

A book I just finished I think you might like: Just Jane by Nancy Moser. It's a bio-novel of the life of Jane Austin and very well researched and written. So far, I've enjoyed reading nearly a dozen books she wrote.

Nothing particularly significant has been crossed off this month, but I did make some decisions and spent a lot of time sitting with other questions - all of that will, I hope, soon lead to some task lists that I can start crossing off!

Two lovely books: "Dinosaurs" by Lydia Millet and "Good Material" by Dolly Alderton. After a long spell of unsatisfying fiction reads I feel like I am finding my stride.

And while it isn't technically a "purchase," early in the month I decided to use some of my credit card reward points to book a hotel for two nights over Easter weekend, just a short drive away to a smaller city where I haven't spent time before. The me of this week is deeply grateful to past me for that decision because I feel an overwhelming need to get away and get some space from my daily life. Looking forward to walking and wandering, new restaurants and a comfy hotel bed!

These monthly wrap-up letters are such fun!

I think you said a while back that you have a house for the hedgies? I'm dying to know if that's where they are hibernating?

Ooh well done on 4 books! I hate those slow start books where you’re 50 or so pages in but not really that into it. Never know whether to give up or give it a chance! Love these little round up blogs 💕😃
